The Sports Special was an option package offered on 69 standard hardtops only. The main features were the bullet rockers, a left hand racing mirror, a stripe that followed the mid-body "sweep", and "turbine" wheel covers like the '67 and '68 DGS. It came in four basic packages. All had the unique rocker moldings and "Turbine" wheel covers.

• Sports Special Value Package "B" - includes the Décor Group along with the Sports Special items listed above, no handling package.
• Sports Special Value Package "C" - includes a special handling package along with the Sports Special items listed above.
• Sports Special Value Package "D" - includes both the Décor interior and the handling package along with the Sports Special items listed above.

Other options could be ordered along with the SS packages. The 351W 2V and 4V were available, as were the 390 4V and the CJ 428.
