INVOICE & BUILD SHEET INFORMATION I have received quite a few questions about invoices & build sheets recently. People sometimes get the two confused. I hope the following will help to clear this up. Build sheets were/are a temporary set of "instructions" for the workers on the assembly line, a guide for them to be able to install the options or features called for or ordered on each vehicle. These sheets were not meant to be a permanent record of assembly. Many of them were thrown away as a vehicle reached the end of the assembly line, though sometimes they were just stuffed in the rear seat spring or hidden under the rear seat or under the rear carpets just to cut down on the amount of trash in the work area. Dealer sales/order invoices are essentially itemized bills from FORD MOTOR COMPANY to an individual dealer listing a vehicle's serial number, all options. plus associated costs for the purchase of that vehicle by the dealer. Hope this clears up the questions that have come up about these two documents in the past. Thanks, |
